影片取材2016全国最美孝心少年、盖州市梁屯镇旺兴仁村的迟凯琳和生父继母的真实故事。7岁那年，迟凯琳的父母遭遇车祸，母亲当场身亡，父亲迟峰落下残疾，无法从事重体力劳动。凯琳的奶奶是膀胱癌患者，爷爷由于神经功能障碍瘫痪在床，姐姐双目失明。这个风雨飘摇的家瞬间跌落谷底，伤残的迟峰万念俱灰，一度想到轻生。年幼的凯琳说：“爸爸，我们已经失去了妈妈，不能再失去你。”她的话唤起了迟峰重新生活的勇气。2011年，年仅24岁的田微走进了这个家，和凯琳一起把家撑起来。
